Most times of the year, please allow 15 working days (3 weeks) for our Leather Artisan, Fiona Ritchie, to make your order, plus Courier Delivery time.

The Stainless Steel nameplates are engraved by a specialist engraver, and the speed at which they can engrave plate orders are out of Sparrowhawk Leather's control. Also, time needs to be allowed for the plate to be couriered from the engraver to Sparrowhawk.
More time may be needed at certain times of the year including Christmas, and in January when our plate engravers close for holidays.

When we receive your order, we will send you an email to confirm our making time. You will be able to cancel your order at that time, should our making time be unworkable for you. If we do not hear from you within 12 hours, we will consider you have agreed to our making time, and will accept your payment and Fiona will start making your order.

If you want to gift your piece earlier than Fiona is able to make it; we can prepare a personalised Gift Card with your message and details of the piece you have ordered, plus expected delivery date.

If you would like the person to be able to specify their own leather colours & personalisation details, you may choose to purchase a Gift Certificate for the product you have chosen.

Fiona has recommended colour combinations that she knows work well with this design and inner colour. The inner colours can not be changed, and stitching looks best on the inside when it matches the inner colour.
If you would like another hand dyed outer colour, please Contact Fiona. If you wish to see a WIP photo, please be aware it will take us time to photograph and send, and our workflow will be interrupted waiting for your approval. An additional admin fee of $15 will apply.

The Mirror Finish Stainless Steel nameplate provided allows for 12 letters (including spaces) to be engraved. Our standard fonts are: > Contemporary Font (Calibri), OR > Feminine Font (Monotype Corsiva) We will confirm your font when we advise our making time. If you would like a different font, please Contact Fiona with details. A $10 additional charge will apply.

Our 100% full grain calf leather inners are made by some New Zealand leather manufacturers living in Australia. They make premium quality inners used by some of the best leather artisan in the world, particularly the Sheridan style leather carvers in the US. They buy the leather in bulk and then use a “knife” (a bit like a cookie cutter) on a clicking press machine to cut out the numerous pieces, which are assembled with stiffening and other materials, and sewn on a leather sewing machine. These knives cost around $100 each, and 6 or more may be required for one “inner”. In this way, their designs are predetermined and can not be changed with a minimum quantity being produced. Using these quality inners allows Sparrowhawk to make 100% leather wallets that are cost effective for our customers.

This means we guarantee your Sparrowhawk Leather piece will do what it is made to do, for a reasonable length of time given reasonable use and leather care.

Your Sparrowhawk Leather piece will match the photograph and descriptions on our website, except for the natural variations found in leather, through hand dyeing, and any customisation that you have requested. i.e. colour. It will give you a reasonable amount of service given reasonable use and leather care.

If there is a problem with your Sparrowhawk Leather piece, please contact us. If your piece has been used in a reasonable fashion for its function, and you have taken care of the leather in line with our Care Instruction, in most circumstances we will repair your piece free of charge.
