Made by New Zealand leather artisan, Fiona Ritchie, the natural grain characteristics of the full grain vegetable tanned traditional Buffalo belting leather makes the Leather Mouse Mat the perfect mouse glide surface and office gift.
The thick, smooth, full grain, leather has almost a spongy feel, for easy mouse movement, and a surface that won't easily indent and won't curl. The coating on the back of the solid leather mouse pad provides a protective, non slip surface.
The optional hand embossed initials makes this mouse pad the perfect business or small 3rd wedding (leather) anniversary gift. The mouse mat is a particularly affordable colleague leaving gift with the added bonus of being able to write a group gift message in marker pen on the back.

Fiona uses time honoured leathercraft techniques, including hand embossing and hand dyeing, allowing Sparrowhawk customers specify the colour and personalization of their piece.
By carefully selecting the leather to cut from the hide, and hand rubbing their dye colour to enhance its individual grain, Fiona crafts a one-off piece, with a unique finish, that is exclusively theirs.

It takes knowledge, practiced techniques, and the best materials to achieve true leather craftsmanship. From 2014, when I made my first Pilot Logbook Cover following 3 days private tuition at a working tannery in Sydney, True Leather Craftsmanship has been my gold standard for Sparrowhawk.
Since then, I have made close to 2500 leather pieces from my Hunua Farm workshop. These include wallets, journal covers and documents holders. Each one is custom made, and personalised for its owner.
